What the E-commerce plan is and how it fits your business

What is a WordPress E-commerce? It is an online store built with WooCommerce on WordPress, with catalogue, product page, cart, checkout, payment gateway (Stripe, Redsys, PayPal) and shipping and tax configuration. Unlike Shopify or Wix, you keep the code and total control of the site: no per-sale commissions and with proper technical SEO to rank on Google.

A WooCommerce online store is what an SME needs when it wants to sell online with full control over its catalogue, its prices and its customer data, without paying per-sale commissions and without depending on closed platforms that change the rules whenever they feel like it. At Sincronía we set up WooCommerce stores for wineries, ceramic studios, accessory shops, artisanal food brands and small businesses across the province of Tarragona and surrounding areas. The plan costs 3000 € VAT included and covers up to 20 products with their variants, payment gateway, shipping setup, complete Spanish tax configuration.

Before deciding on WooCommerce there are three technical decisions worth being very clear about from the start of the project, because they condition the entire store architecture and its ongoing maintenance cost. The first is the payment gateway: in Spain the most common option is Redsys (the gateway used by most banks: Sabadell, CaixaBank, BBVA, Bankinter) for virtual POS with card, or Stripe if you prefer a more modern integration that already includes Apple Pay and Google Pay out of the box. The second decision is shipping: flat rates by zone (the simplest), by weight and volume (the fairest), or integration with a specific logistics operator with real-time calculation. The third decision is VAT: if you only sell to mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands it is a trivial matter, but if you sell to the Canary Islands, Ceuta, Melilla or Portugal you need to configure different taxes per zone, which WooCommerce supports but must be configured properly from day one to avoid trouble with the Spanish tax authority (Agencia Tributaria).

The most common mistake in cheap WooCommerce stores we see on the market is taxation misconfigured from day one. Many businesses set up the store, add products and start selling quickly, but they do not have VAT rates per product, the corresponding exemptions, the specific taxes for the Canary Islands or the fiscal receipts required by Spanish regulation properly configured. When the tax authority asks for the first quarter they get a considerable scare and, often, have to redesign the whole store. A store that is properly configured from day one has taxes correctly mapped per product and zone, invoices automatically generated in the legal Spanish format and VAT books fully ready to file.

We build on WordPress with WooCommerce configured to measure for your specific business: catalogue, attributes, variants, inventory, taxes, coupons, transactional emails, technical SEO per product (Product schema, canonicals, product sitemap and listing optimisation for rich results), covering catalogue management, orders, shipping, returns and coupon strategies. After launch, the usual approach is to combine the store with a WordPress maintenance plan specific to e-commerce: daily backups, continuous checkout monitoring, immediate downtime alerts and priority support for any incident that may affect sales.

The usual delivery timeline is 4 weeks from design approval. We need your catalogue in the first few days of the project (high-resolution images, accurate descriptions, prices, initial stock and shipping policy) so development does not stall at any point. We have set up WooCommerce stores for wineries in the Penedès, ceramic studios in Tarragona, accessory shops in Reus and artisanal food brands in El Vendrell. If you want to sell online with full control over your store, without per-sale commissions and with solid technical SEO to rank on Google, this is your plan. If you have an extensive catalogue with more than 100 products, we can adapt the plan to the actual volume with a personalised quote, no problem. And if you sell across multiple EU countries, we can also configure multi-currency and country-specific pricing rules from the very start of the project.

Frequently asked questions about E-commerce

  • How many products can I have?

The plan covers up to 20 products with their variants (size, colour, material, etc.), configured WooCommerce attributes, inventory, taxes and transactional emails. For larger catalogues we quote separately because the scope of the initial loading and configuration work changes. In projects for local shops in Tarragona and the province we usually close the launch with the 20 base products and leave the store ready to start selling.

  • Which payment gateway do you use?

We integrate with Stripe, Redsys or the gateway you already use. We also wire up PayPal and Bizum if you need them as additional checkout methods. The choice depends on your country and sector: Redsys works well for ecommerce in Spain, Stripe is the most flexible option for international sales and PayPal adds trust. For local shops in Tarragona and the province we usually recommend Redsys for operating costs.

  • How much does an online store cost?

From 3000 € VAT included for a WooCommerce store with up to 20 products, integrated payment gateway and full on-page technical SEO. The plan covers catalogue, variants, inventory, taxes, coupons, transactional emails. It does not include monthly maintenance or paid campaigns. For local shops in Tarragona and the province it is the most balanced plan to start selling online with a solid, scalable base.
