A website written for your business, not bolted onto a content system
A hand-coded website is one we write from scratch for your project. Not a bought template, not a design recycled from another client, not a visual builder that breaks when you change one setting. We start from a blank page, design the interface and write it line by line until it does exactly what your business needs.
What we hand over is the code, and the code is yours. There is no panel to click through, no plugins to update and no dependencies that expire. Nothing a third party can break with a Tuesday afternoon update, and nothing that ties you to this agency: it is a standard web project that any other developer with experience can continue.
The economic argument is simple: the same website costs half as much when it is written by hand. With WordPress you also pay for the CMS, the plugins and the maintenance that comes with them; here none of that exists. How much does a hand-coded website cost?

What is the difference with a WordPress site?
WordPress puts a content panel on top of the site, which is why you can change text, photos or products yourself. A hand-coded site has no panel, no plugins and nothing to update, and that is why it costs half. If you will edit content every week, we will recommend WordPress without hesitation; if the site is published and then rarely touched, this option is cheaper and lasts longer.
What if one day I do need to edit the content myself?
That is where WordPress wins, and we will not pretend otherwise: if you need a panel to publish without depending on anyone, WordPress is the right option even though it costs double. With a hand-coded site we make the content changes, quoted separately and with no mandatory monthly fee.
Will the website be mine when the project ends?
Yes. You receive the complete source code, the content, the domain and the hosting. There is no licence to renew, no permanent fee and no provider who can take your access away.
Will I be locked in with this agency?
The opposite of a proprietary system. With no CMS and no paid plugins there is nothing contractual tying you in and nothing to renew. What you get is a standard web project, with the code in your hands, that another developer can continue without us.
Is this the same as a web application?
No, and the two should not be confused. We are talking about business websites here: landing pages, catalogues, stores, corporate sites, contact forms and search positioning. If what you need is custom software —an internal tool, a dashboard with users and permissions, your own platform— that is a different service and starts at €3,500.
Do I need a specific type of hosting?
No. A hand-coded site needs normal, lightweight hosting, which is also cheaper than what WordPress requires with its database and plugins. We can manage it for you or you can use the hosting you already have.
What if a year from now I want to edit the content myself?
We are building Strata, our own content manager, so that hand-coded sites can also be managed without depending on us. It is not finished yet and we are not selling it as something you can sign up for today. If you need that guarantee from day one, the honest answer is WordPress.
